A HOMAGE to João Pina, who in 2005 began researching Operation Condor, a secret military plan initiated in 1975 during the Cold War by six Latin American countries: Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay. In the hands of right-wing military dictatorships, the governments of these countries intended to eliminate political opponents and critics, labelled as ‘communist threats’ and ‘subversive elements’.

Homage to Charles Fréger. Far from the realism of the situations, his portraits are obviously partial and biased. Herons, deer, ogres, demons and other figures from a Japanese bestiary are presented outside the festivities, moving through rice paddies, fields or waves.

A homage to Yan Morvan, who doesn't try to answer the question of war, but leaves it up to the viewer. He rediscovers the typologies of battle, photographing them with the same acuity and sense of observation that a soldier must have in the field. The result is a long series of open fields, forests, seashores, bridges and rivers, towns and ramparts.
